Look What I Got In The Mail Today!!!

You have no idea how badly I needed this today....

A friend just stopped by the house and said, "You've got a package on the front porch."  Low and behold....I got this little present from Mrs. Kaloula at Siestas and Cupcakes.  She hosted an Avon giveaway not too long ago and I won. :)  Happy early birthday to me!!!

Isn't that so sweet??

What a GREAT gift set!

As many of you may remember, I broke my bottle of Juicy not too long ago so I am SUPER excited about this new perfume. It smells amazing.  It's light with a slight hint of sweet.  It is a great spring/summer sent.  Kaloula is an Avon sales representative, so feel free to contact her if you want to purchase some for yourself.

Hope you are having a great weekend wherever you may be!

Guest Post Friday - Brown Eyed Belle

Yay!  Another Friday is finally here.  :)  This week I have asked Julie over at Brown Eyed Belle to do the honors this Guest Post Friday.  Julie is a super classy, incredibly kind blogger.  I love reading her posts each day - she always seems to have something fresh and exciting to write about - you never know what you are going to get.  Julie has written about something that I'm sure all of us can relate to - the importance of strong female friendships.  So without further ado here's Miss Julie!

Happy Friday, everyone! Julie here from Brown Eyed Belle, how are you? It’s so great to be here! When your sweet girl Amber emailed me this week her subject line was ‘Guest Post Friday???’ And I was giddy! See, I adore this lady and her blog, her pretty new blog to be exact! And I love the fact that I’m the first guest post here at this little revamped joint she has! So, let’s get on to the post, shall we?

Today I want to talk about something that is near and dear to me. Something that is hard to find, but once you have it, you are one lucky lady. Something that I hope all of us are blessed with- a wonderful group of girlfriends. You know those girls that will cry with you, laugh with you, beat someone up for you, have a wine party when you’ve had a bad day? Yes, those girls.

There was a time in my life when I didn’t have a close group of girls. Well, girls that I trusted. Have you ever had that feeling? I always wondered if I would have a group of girls that would be in my life forever, my bffs, my soul sistas, my bridesmaids. Well, the search wasn’t easy and it didn’t happen overnight, but somewhere along my journey in college some wonderful ladies came into my life that I know are here to stay.

These girls complete me one hundred percent, they are the peanut butter to my jelly, the salt to my pepper, the peas to my carrots, you get the idea. They really make my world go-round. So, what is my point with this post about how much I love my friends? I think good friends can make our lives so much better, so much more meaningful and so much happier. I didn’t realize how friends can impact and change your life (for the better) until these girls came along, and I wouldn’t trade them for the world.

“A solid group of girls will get you through anything. I feel bad for the women who don’t believe that.” Kate Hudson

What about you? Do you have a group of girls that you love dearly?
I agree with Julie one hundred percent.  Sometimes when life has me down, all it takes to pick me back up is a dinner with my girlfriends over sushi or a quick trip to Starbucks with a friend.  Things have been kind of shaky on my end these days and I am so blessed to have many strong, devoted women in my life to love and encourage me.  I hope you are blessed just the same!

Say Hello To The New Me!

So what do you think?  Krstyn has completed my blog makeover and I think I'm in LOVE!!!  I swear there is anything that Krstyn can't do - she made this process pain free and was incredibly accomodating (and that's saying a lot for a control freak like me!)  Her prices are affordable and she is a pleasure to work with!  You should definitely check out Krizzy Designs

Hope you like what you see!  I'm so excited!

These Are The Words I Would Say

Happy Hump Day! Hubby and I made it back from Vegas late last night. We left Vegas and it was about 68 degrees – we arrived in Charlotte to snow and freezing temperatures. Talk about Jet Lag! I’m struggling pretty badly this morning. I promise pictures and stories of my first time to Vegas are soon to come.

Poor Steven actually had to drive back to the airport this morning at 5:30am and hop on a flight to Indianapolis where he will be until late Friday night. I wanted to send him an encouraging email this morning – something to tell him how much I love him, how much I appreciate his hard work and how grateful I am to have a loving, dedicated husband. The past few months have been an incredible struggle for the two of us and his love and devotion to me has only grown in spite of everything we are dealing with. So I wanted to tell him that soon – very soon – this will all be over. I wanted him to know ho much I believe in him – but how do you really find the right words? On my way into the office I heard the song These Are The Words I Would Say by Sidewalk Prophets. I had never heard it before, but this song said everything I wanted to express to my husband.

Three in the morning, and I'm still awake
So I picked up a pen and a page
And I started writing just what I'd say
If we were face to face

I'd tell you just what you mean to me
Tell you these simple truths

CHORUS
Be strong in the Lord
And never give up hope
You're gonna do great things
I already know
God's got His hand on You
So don't live life in fear
Forgive and forget
But don't forget why you're here
Take your time and pray
These are the words I would say

Last time we spoke you said you were hurting
And I felt your pain in my heart
I want to tell you that I keep on praying
That love will find you where you are

I know cause I've already been there
So please hear these simple truths

Say... from one simple life to another
I will say... come find peace in the Father

Be strong in the Lord
And never give up hope
You're gonna do great things
I already know
God's got His hand on You
So don't live life in fear
Forgive and forget
But don't forget why you're here

Take your time and pray
And thank God for each day
His love will find a way
These are the words I would say

I know that so many of you are struggling as well. I read it every day – fear of upcoming deployments, worries about becoming pregnant, struggles at work or concerns about career choices, family issues and struggles with spouses. You know I don’t like to be super “preachy”, but I hope these lyrics inspire as much hope for you as they do for me. You’re going to do great things – never give up hope – don’t live life in fear – thank God for each day – these are the words I would say…..
