Miscellany Monday - I'm A Mess!

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

{one} Do you ever have that feeling like you're treading water just to stay afloat or barely hanging on by a thread? I've been feeling that way over the past two weeks.  Not necessarily in a bad way....but just a bit overwhelmed.  Things are going very well for Steven and I; however, there just aren't enough hours in the day to get everything done and I feel like I am halfway completing everything.  It's a very frustrating feeling.

{two}  I'm horrible at dieting.  I will follow Zone strictly for four-five days and then blow it for two-three.  The main problem is poor planning.  I don't mind eating Zone approved meals - it's just taking the time to create a meal that is perfectly balanced with 40% carbs, 30% protein & 30% fat that becomes a bit difficult - especially when I don't get home until 8:30 most evenings.

{three}  I've hurt my back.  We maxed out shoulder to overhead yesterday at CrossFit.  I tried to clean and jerk 75 pounds (which is totally weak!) and I couldn't get it overhead.  Instead of dropping the weight, I held onto it and completely messed up my lower back.  I'm in so much pain.  I have no one to blame but myself because I should have just let go of the bar - but I hate throwing down weights.  It seems so violent for some reason.  I soaked in Epsom salt yesterday, applied Stop Pain all afternoon and took a much needed nap.  But still...I'm in pain.  Anyway....now I will probably have to miss a few workouts this week to allow myself to heal.  Grr...
Dixie and I taking a much needed nap after a tough morning.

{four}  We have no groceries in the house.  Which only makes preparing Zone approved meals more difficult.  Maybe it is a good thing that I'm not going to CrossFit tonight -at least I will have time to fill the fridge and cupboards with food for the next week.

{five}  Even my purse is a mess!  You know things have gone completely down hill when it takes two and a half minutes just to find your lip gloss.  Just another example of how unorganized I am these days....

I can't believe I'm posting this for the world to see......

{six}  With all that being said - I've really got to get it together.  Steven and I are discussing some pretty big changes that may occur in the spring and there is no way on earth I will be able to continue this disheveled lifestyle and survive.  So I've got about three months to get it together.  Looks like I need to get a game plan together!  (Any guesses what these big changes may consist of??)

You're a brave woman to show your purse to the world! Mine is overstuffed with useless stuff! I blame my mother whom has the most unorganized purse ever! It does feel good when I get it all cleaned out and everything is in its proper place!

Hope your back gets to feeling better!!! :)

Oh dear friend, you ARE a mess. Maybe missing CrossFit to heal is meant to be. You can hopefully get some things done and feel less stressed. You should plan what you need to get done so you ARENT so stressed. It will only wear you out each and every day.

Ugh I feel the same way! We are such a mess, and no matter how badly I need it, I can't seem to get on the diet/exercise bandwagon! We thought life after the wedding would calm down, but it's actually just as bad or worse! We just don't really have an excuse now, or motivation! *sigh* feel your pain! Feel better! CUUUUUUTE Puppy!

Do your big changes include an Amber jr?!

My purse looks like that right now, and it absolutely ruins my day every time I look at it. I hate being that unorganized too

Hope things chill out for you soon and you get to feelin better girl!

The picture of you and Dixie is way too cute. I feel like my purse is always unorganized. I love cleaning it out and organizing it all!

Do your plans include a baby?? We're having the same thoughts!

I'm treading water right now just to stay on top of the things that HAVE to be done. Forget the things that I WANT to do :-/

I hope your back is feeling better soon. Suggestion: practice throwing the weights down every so often. It feels SO good & is such a nice stress reliever :) Plus, it makes you kinda feel hardcore...LOL.

I am curious as to your big changes too! ;)

But that said, take a deep breath and remember this too shall pass. I'm right there with you! Bit I bet taking some time off from CrossFit to heal will help slow you down a little. And you're NOT horrible at dieting. If you're doing good for more days out of the week than you're not, you're still ahead of the game!

I actually passed a CrossFit the other day and I thought of you...I didn't even know they had them in Massachusetts.

My purse was looking like yours until I put all of the necessities into a new bag this morning and tried to trick myself into feeling more organized. lol I love your bag though, it is super cute!

I hope you start to feel better soon!

OOOOO!!!! Big plans?!?! I bet its a little one! How exciting to be thinking about that next stage in life. Don't worry so much about things being disheveled.... Everyone is like that, c'est la vie! My purse, just like my life, is a mess as well. All I do is wake up and go to sleep and tell myself that The Lord will guide the rest....
Hope your back feels better!

Oh girl. I think my purse could rival yours. Our purses need to meet so they can chit chat about how terrible they are.

And I WHOLEHEARTEDLY understand the feeling of being overwhelmed. I think my negativity toward that has taken over my blog for the past few weeks. I'm trying my hardest to chin up and carry on, but sometimes it's hard. I had a little mini-nervous breakdown last Thursday, and I can't tell if that helped or hurt :)

Keep treading. No worries in treading :)

Isn't cuddling with your dog just the greatest sometimes? I hope your back feels better and I have to say, thanks for making me feel good about my unorganized purse, I'm not the only one who can't find her keys or chap stick without dumping the thing out sometimes.
Can't wait to hear about your changes!

I'm so sorry your back is out! That is the WORST! I have a bad back and when it goes out the pain is horrible. It's not like a broken arm for everyone to see that you really are hurt. Hope you feel better soon! And that purse could be the reason your back's hurting! Ha!

Melissa said...

Hey Girl! Sorry your having a tough time! If this is any consolation, I was feeling the exact same way this weekend...I'm not very busy this week, so I'm hoping to pull it together! Hope your back gets better soon!

That picture of you and your pup is so cute! :) Love the purse...Mine looks the exact same way! :) I hope your back gets to feeling better. I have back problems and my dr. gave me some Arnica Gel. It works pretty well, so maybe try getting your hands on some of that :)

Good luck getting organized! Just take a deep breathe and take it one step at a time. I feel the same way sometimes, so I completely relate!

I hope you can find some down time girly! You deserve it :)

My guess is Baby? :)

Melanie said...

Ouch..hope your back gets better soon! That had to really hurt! At least you and the dog got to take a nice nap together..cute pic!! Are yall 'baby planning'?!?

I'm sorry about your back! That sounds painful! maybe you should steer clear of the toilets with heels today :) and that picture of you and the pup is priceless!

Oh good! I feel so much better about my purse situation! I thought I was the only female with a disheveled purse!
That sucks you hurt your back =/ and BTW we have NO food in our house --- ugh I loathe grocery shopping but that is what we are doing tonight =/ boo!!
Take a breath and take on one area in your life at a time. You'll get it together =)

Ouch. I've done that with the clean and press. Ice the heck out of it, girlfriend.

And big changes this spring...hmmmm...

I feel that way a lot too...I hate when all of my stuff is a mess but I am soo tired when I get home that I dont have the energy to fix it all. I love that you showed ur purse! You guys thinking of babies?!

Stacey said...

I know! I know! And you are not making me a grandbaby... by the way your rear end looks much smaller! Hate you hurt your back. I love you. Xoxo

Kelsea said...

Poor thing! I completely understand the feeling of barely making it! Just remember to give yourself grace when you most need it!

And let that injury heal! Relax and enjoy at least one simple thing a day. Things will get back to "normal" eventually :)

Thanks again for doing this giveaway! You're the best!

After reading just number one of your post I thought...OMG! Me too :(

I hope you start feeling a little more put together, I know I do. And I hope your back feels better too...

Hey girl! I gave you an award on my blog today!

Maybe it's just a case of the Mondays?! LOL.
I'm terrible about dieting, I give up after a couple of days and feel guilty and the cycle starts all over! Plus I hate grocery shopping and It's easier to eat out when you have no food in the house!
Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Mrs. Pick said...

That picture of you and Dixie is just precious! My boxer is a cuddle bug too!

I hope things start to feel more settled in your life! I've been feeling the same way lately and I am working hard to "get it together!"

I hope your back is feeling better!

I can't wait to hear these spring plans! Could it be a baby?!

Miss Southern Vol said...

Would these be preggo plans?!?!?!?!? You poor thing- I hope your back feels better soon! You probably just need to chill! Oh and dont worry- I think 99.9% of female purses look JUST like that (speaking for myself) :)

Kelly said...

Aww, sorry to hear that your back is messed up-- OUCH!! Nothing is worse than having to take off workouts because you pushed yourself too far, or made a mistake while working out.

Babies wouldn't be on the horizon now would they?? Now that would be exciting stuff... ;-D

Ms. Emmy N said...

Hope your back is feeling better today. Planning is the hardest part of dieting, which is why I have adjusted my eating theory to "everything in moderation". Which takes some practice, but is the easiest 'diet' I have ever tried. Good luck with the organization... and as for the big changes, I may have a little idea! :)

Brittany said...

I think a cute little baby might be added to the household ;)

So sorry you hurt your back! I have really bad backaches sometimes (Dr. says I get muscle spasms) so I can imagine what you're going through. Hang in there and get better soon!!

Don't worry though, I think we all are a mess sometimes. You'll be back together in no time :) Just take a deep breath and go one day at a time! xo

PinkLouLou said...

OMG are you going to make a baby?!?!?

Anne said...

I'm right there with you feeling overwhelmed about things. Right now I am just prioritizing what things are things that cannot be sacrificed and what things can be and so as long as I get the important things in, I don't beat myself up for slacking in other areas (which is why I haven't worked out in ages). I know that how things are right now is just a phase and a month from now I will be able to move up other things on the priority list.

Hope your back feels better and you get some down time to get things under control :)
