What Makes You Angry?

It's another gloriously busy day on my end.  Struggling to keep things afloat.  So I will leave you with this quote from an anonymous author that my pastor shared last week.
"The size of a man can be measured by the size of the thing that makes him angry."
This quote keeps playing over and over in my mind this week each time I feel myself getting frustrated or becoming angry.  All too often I become angry over the smallest things and allow those small things to steal my joy and happiness.

So today, I'm focusing my efforts on being grateful for the many ways that God has blessed me.  Instead of wallowing in a sea of self pity (umm...like my post yesterday!) I am going to make the most of today and cross some very important items off my to-do list.  And most importantly, I'm going to strive to be a woman of character who becomes angry over matters of importance such as injustice, poverty, and immorality instead of the trite, minuscule matters that I so often find myself consumed with.

I think this time of year somehow can get stressful for everyone- tis the season :) Try to relax and enjoy the little things! (easy for me to type as I have been the SAME way the past couple days) Hubby is officially dodging me at this point!

I have been getting stuck in traffic a lot lately, and it's been making me overly frustrated and angry... So I am working on taking deep breaths, accepting the situation and praying for whomever was in the accident rather than selfishly worrying about me and where I need to be. This quote is perfectly fitting!

Turning a negative into a positive! LOVE it! I too struggle with letting the littlest things ruin everything. I hate it. I am working on my anger. It's hard but def for the best! <333

Just what I needed to hear! Thank you! I had an incident with a certain someone yesterday and have been bitter and angry about how they approached my husband and the subject ever since. I know I'm overreacting though and just need to move on and and remember everything that certain someone is doing for us right now. :)

Great quote and thought for the day. I am going to try to think of that each time I start to get frazzled over something silly.

I'm so glad I just read your post. I was starting to fume about something petty at work but I need to let it go.

Like you said, there are bigger issues at hand!

You're so right, Amber! It's so easy to let the little things make us angry, and it takes a bigger person to let them go. Defintiely something I need to remember in my own life too.

Good for you! I have been wallowing all day! I know better but I have been. I hurt myself last night, and can't even get the get up and go to post today what happened!

Oh well...I guess I needed that quote! Sorry about your back try lying on the floor (on your back) with pillows under your knees, that sometimes helps

I think you are right on and that is a good example for the rest of us!

what a great post!!! Im learning as i get older that you can't let the little things get to you and you have to appreciate the things you have. sometimes that is SOO hard but important to remember. thanks for the reminder

Well said! I'm working on that as well- and PATIENCE, PATIENCE, PATIENCE! I've never heard that quote, but it's so true and so good for self reflection.

Well said! :) One I've lived by for the past few years is
"Happiness is a choice, and you can make that choice everyday if you want to!"
(I'll tell you who said it via email- little embarrassing and will make you flashback a couple decades- haha!!)

Happy Wednesday lady!!

I love it! It's the truth though. My attitude in general is something I work on with myself daily. It's true...why let the little things get you? It happens to me sometimes still, but less than it use to!
