I'm Just Sayin'

Welcome back for another round of my weekly rants.  Thanks for the positive (or mostly positive, should I say) responses!  Feel free to link up and play along if you  like!

To the college girl I watched park in a handicap spot yesterday - you're not handicapped!  Yes, the car you are driving has a handicap sticker; however, it also has a nursing home parking sticker so I am assuming that either this is your grandparents' car or you are an aide of some sort that helps at a local nursing home.  Either way - you, yourself, are not handicapped.  I know this because I watched you bee-bop out of your car chitchatting on your cell phone and literally starting jumping up and down screaming "OMG! OMG! OMG!" at some news that you received from whomever you were talking to.  Other than the fact that you're an idiot for making such a spectacle in the middle of a university parking lot, you are obviously not physically or mentally handicapped.  How dare you take advantage of someone else's disability and use their handicap sticker to park in a spot closer to the building?  You, my dear, are the perfect example *exactly* what is wrong with college kids these days: self serving, ignorant, disrespectful & oblivious to those around you.  Snap out of it - or the real world is gonna eat you alive in a few years.  And I hope I'm there to witness it.  I'm just sayin'.....

To the producers of the Oscar's - thanks for waisting three hours of my life on Sunday!  I won't go through my rant of all that I found incredibly boring about your show considering that I've already stated it HERE.  I will simply ask that you step up your game next year.  If you were trying to reach a younger demographic, you failed miserably in my opinion.  I really don't understand what is so difficult about putting on an entertaining awards show.  You've got tons of money and the best of Hollywood's celebrities at your disposal - this isn't rocket science.  I'm just sayin'......

To the readers who keep leaving anonymous comments on my weekly I'm Just Sayin' posts - please feel free to leave your name!  I welcome your opinions - even if they are in contrast to my own opinions.  I think I proved with yesterday's post that I'm able to poke fun at myself.  I can admit when I am wrong (except for to my husband, because I am obviously never wrong when it comes to matters of my marriage!)  But if you're going to leave a negative or challenging comment on my blog, at least give me the opportunity to respond.  It's just common courtesy.  Anonymous comments are no way to make new friends.  I'm Just Sayin'......

Can't stand when people use the handicap signs for their own use. RUDE!

Oh my goodness, that drives me nuts! It's just like people who park in the expecting mother parking. Unless you are nine-months pregnant and ready to pop, don't take up the space. Even if you have kids in your vehicle...expectant.mother.parking.

ha I love Just Sayin' posts! =) I completely agree with the first ... meanwhile you have people like my father-in-law who qualify for a handicap space but REFUSE to take advantage of it EVER.

I can't stand people that use the handicapped spaces when they obviously are not. And I love that you said bee bop. I think that made my day. :)

People that park in handicap spaces that don't need to realllllly bug me. I almost want to spit on their car as I walk past. I have a grandfather who truly has to utilize these spaces and half the tiem they are not available.

And contrary to popular belief, being excessively overweight is NOT a handicap and shouldn't be treated like one with a handicap parking permit.

Sorry if I offended anyone here :-)

It's unfortunate that girls like that give all college students a bad name.
Stupid people come in all ages.

Don’t you sometimes wish that you were not raised to be such a nice, respectful person? That way you can run up and say something like “What’s your handicap, laziness
Yes, I’m having an angry day.

I agree with kypinkgirlpearls! Stupid comes in all ages. I am 24, in college, and wouldnt think of taking a handicapped spot if I wasnt handicapped. People in general seem to have little respect or curtousy.

I love your blog Amber! I just wanted to argue the other side of the handicapped thing though mostly based on the other comments because I did catch the nursing home sticker part....My sister has Lupus, but just looking at her she seems like your average annoying 20 yr old (I say that with love) the thing is that if she's in the sun for very long it has horrendous effects on her body. So she can't beebop around for too long. =)
I say that so the next time y'all see a seemingly healthy person park in a H spot...please don't spit on them or their cars...I'm just saying. ;)

I hate it when people don't leave their names! Seriously people, if you have the nerve to say it, at least own it!

"[Y]ou are obviously not physically or mentally handicapped", I would have to disagree.

For example, I am a diagnosed psychotic, but you cannot tell by watching me get out of a car. I also have a blood disorder and organ problems, which can leave me happy and lively one minute, and in agony and unable to get up the next.
There are many invisible illnesses.

I agree with you, the younger generations make me sooo irritated.

And I am sorry, but psychosis is not a disorder worthy of handicapped parking, per another reader. Neither is pregnant mother parking. Both people can move themselves, albeit a bit differently than your average Joe, but they are not handicapped. The notion of what handicapped needs to be taken down a notch! I am, obvi, very hardcore about this!

Why do you have a problem with anonymous comments? Did you voice these complaints to the people you publish stories about on your blog? Do you give them common courtesy? Seems hypocritical because you are anonymously behind a computer screen putting your perspective spin on things without giving those people an opportunity to defend themselves. A complaint verbally to a friend or family member is one thing, but to publish stories on the web is another. You shouldn't so openly judge another person.

"psychosis is not a disorder worthy of handicapped parking, per another reader". I did not say it was. I am saying that you cannot tell what is wrong with somebody's mind (or even body) by watching them get out of a car.
