Housework Tuesday - Baseboards

Calling all bloggers - I need help!  It's time to clean my baseboards again and I'm seriously dreading this chore. I mean who honestly enjoys hours spent on your knees and bum wiping down baseboards?

I have always used a bucket of warm water with a hint of Pine Sol and a  handy dandy spounge to do the trick.  But the chore is pretty manual and I'm wondering if there are any tricks or fabulous products I'm unaware of.

So this week instead of telling you what it is that I have learned, I'm asking for your help.  Anyone know of a way to make this excruciating chore a little less painful?

Hope you have a great Tuesday!

Ummm... I've never washed our base boards, yet our home is only about a year old! How often do you wash yours?? :-)

I have been using Flylady and they sell this little scrubber on a stick - it is great for baseboards.

you still have to get down - but it takes some of the elbow grease out of the chore!

I forgot to add something - when you sweep you can run your broom over the baseboards and that keeps them from getting so "dirty" that way when it's baseboard day - it's quick and simple

I sweep mine to keep them from building up so bad, but then when its time to clean, I get down with a sponge just like you do :(

December 2012 is fast coming and for many believers, surviving 2012 has become the main topic of discussion.

To survive 2012 you must educate yourself about the secrets of 2012. Surviving 2012 would be much easier if we knew what was going to happen.

I also sweep our baseboards every time I sweep (we have no carpet on our main floor so we sweep often!) and get down on my hands and knee's about once a month with a sponge.. Cleaning the baseboards is one of my dreaded chores!

My mom has carpet in their living and family rooms and she takes the vacuum to the baseboards each time she vacuum's which seems to help as well. I really don't think there is a way around the sponge though.

Wow, I feel like a very bad housewife. We pretty much clean the baseboards when we move out - how sad is that? They don't seem to get too dirty, I don't know why.

Vodka. Take 2 oz, mix with lemonade and drink. Then put on some loud music and dance while you clean. Get some squats in, make it a fun tipsy sorta work out! ;)

I hate cleaning baseboards! My mom gave me a great tip buy a cheap sponge mop and cut it down to the length of your baseboard, then you can just mop them instead of having to bent down!

Hope it helps!

I vaccuum our basebords whenever I have to vaccuum a room. It helps to keep them cleaner!
