So the day that I have been dreading is finally here....it's my birthday....I'm 25. I have been looking about my "About Me" column with sheer disdain the past few weeks knowing that today I would have to change the part that said "I'm twenty-four." I really didn't think that through too well when I set-up this blog.....
So this year I've wised up. Now I will classify myself as a "twenty-something" - because Lord knows I don't need to perform the brutal task of bumping up my age each year in my "About Me" section.
I'm not exactly sure why I'm so down in the mouth this birthday. Maybe it's because the past few months have been a real challenge for me. Or maybe I realize all of the goals I have for myself that I still need to complete - MBA, CPA, etc.... I feel like "25" is somehow the official stamp of adulthood (nevermind that I've been married for almost two years and have owned a house for almost the same.) I can really no longer use the excuse, "Well - I was young, and didn't really know better...." Or possibly I'm allergic to aging - makes me sick on my stomach?
But unfortunately as I have learned from the beautiful women ahead of me, this birthday is a reality and I'm getting older no matter how much I dislike it. So I'm off - for the first day of 25. :)

Happy Birthday, pretty girl! I know exactly how you feel! So much so, in fact, that I threw a "Kristin's Half of 50" party when I turned 25! I'll be 27 this year, and let me tell you right now that it doesn't get any easier! But look at the bright side...the best things in life get better with age, right?! Enjoy your special day!

Happy Birthday! My husband conquered the dreaded 25 in January...and mine is in May. So I know how your feeling. It feels like such a crazy number and that you should have so much accomplished by now.

I went thru the "quarter life crisis" when I turned 25, having thought about where I was at that age vs where I wanted to be. You seem to be doing very well, relax and enjoy! Happy Birthday!

Girl, shut up. Lol... twenty something. Geez, you make it sound like you're twenty nine or something. Lol. (Any 29 year olds that read this, i'm joking!) You should totally be celebrating. I've never seen a woman that didn't get better with age. And you're no different. Happy birthday!!!

25 was a GREAT year for me and I know it will be for you too!! Your insurance goes down, you can officially rent a car-- the list goes on and on!!! Celebrate and live it up!!

I felt the same way when I turned 25! I was so depressed! I still get a little depressed knowing I am inching my way to 30 (I will be 28 this year). But I will have to say each year since I have turned 25 has gotten better and better and I have accomplished many goals!
oh honey - i KNOW how you feel. i'm going to be TWENTY NINE, yes 29 this year!!! ONE YEAR AWAY FROM 30!!! i have a feeling i'm going to have a hard time with 30 ... hopefully i'll have a munchkin by then to keep me distracted :) have fun and ENJOY your 25th! use it as an excuse for an "all about you day" or shoot, WEEK as we do it in our family!!!

Happy birthday Amber! I've read your blog for a while now, just never commented. I just wanted to say I think you'll be as fabulous at twenty-five as you were at twenty-four. I have similar feelings about getting older; I'll be twenty this year and every time I remember that twenty is two decades I start to flip. At the same time, though, I try to remember it's just the start of a new adventure. :]
