Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

{one}  It was a pretty good weekend at the our house.  We attended a pretty tough CrossFit workout Saturday morning.  Bama beat Penn State - ROLL TIDE!  I may have knocked two items off my 101 in 1001 list (follow-up post this week!) and we were pretty productive about getting a few much needed chores done around the house.  All in all, I feel like I'm starting this week completely prepared and rested.  It's a great feeling!

{two}  I'm seriously considering dying my hair brown for the winter.  I'm a natural blonde, but in the winter my hair turns a dirty blonde that I hate.  I no longer go to the tanning bed, so during the winter I'm rather pale with yucky looking dirty blonde hair.  It's just not a good look.  But I'm kind of nervous to dye my hair brown - it would be such a drastic change!  Any thoughts???

{three}  Hubby mentioned last night that we need to plan a trip to go visit my parents.  So we started discussing possible options.  Umm...one small problem...we have plans every single weekend until November!  Seriously.  And here I thought the fall was going to bring some much needed down time and relaxation.  Hah!

{four} I'm toying with the idea of not running the half marathon in November.  Trying to acclimate to CrossFit workouts and train for a half marathon is really proving to be a little too much.  I still plan to run a half marathon with my running buddy Erika, but we discussed possibly waiting until early spring to give us more time to train properly.  We shall see....

{five}  It's Girl's Night this Friday!  I'm SO excited.  Erika is having our little group over to her new place for Italian food (and possibly a few bottles glasses) of wine.  I'm even staying the night Friday evening.  It's like a college sleepover!  Here's hoping this week goes by quickly so I can enjoy some much needed time with my ladies!

I know how you feel-we are booked up until the end of November as well, and then the holiday parties hit (not that I'm complaining)! I just did my hair a little darker than I normally go and an not thrilled with it. I would do a very light light brown, or maybe strawberry blond? Just keep in mind you have to build off of what you've done now in the spring, I would hate for you to have to highlight the heck out of it then. Maybe your stylist could just put a few different shades of highlights/lowlights in for fall/winter so you don't have to start from scratch in the spring?

I think your hair would look great brown!! It would make your beautiful blue eyes pop even more and look SO gorgeous! My friend did that and it looked amazing :)

Maybe you could do some low-lights first so that way you can ease into it a little. Then at least you would still have some blonde and it could blend. :)

I say go for it on the brown hair! What's the worst that can happen? If you hate it (which I'm sure you won't) you can always dye it back! =) I bet it will look great!

I am constantly dying my hair, I love the change and since you are naturally blonde (like me) we can usually pull off any color we want.. If you are iffy about it don't use and entirely permanent color, a 28 wash out would be perfect for a start. I have been dying my own hair since I was 14 so any questions, let me know :) I think it would look great!

Every fall I get the urge to dye my hair...and I like it for awhile, but I always end up blonde again:-) I say go for it...you would look great as a brunette!

Do you like Crossfit? I know a few people that swear by it but it seems like it would KICK MY BOOTY! I'm the same way in the winter. My hair is a nasty, mousy brown color that I cannot stand, but it's always SO hard to get it back to the color blonde that I like after going brunette, so we'll see. Good luck! Hope you have a fantastic week, little lady :)

Ooooohhh go for the brown Amber!!!! Maybe a medium brown with blonde highlights. Actually they could just pull your own blonde through so you don't have to process it. That would look amazing!

Have fun on girl's night!! That sounds like so much fun! :)

I say go for brown! I did my hair a dark brown one fall and loved it! It's very pretty with blue eyes. I'm thinking about trying it again, but not until after the wedding!

Also, about the 1/2 marathon...I would suggest waiting if you don't think you can give yourself enough time. You will be much happier if you take your time through the training! (coming from someone who skipped the 1/2 marathon goal and went straight to the marathon...regrets...haha) Good luck!

I think you'd look great with brown hair. Girl with those gorgeous bright eyes you could easily pull it off and look stunning doing so! Just keep in mind that it would be a shock for the first few weeks!

I also know how you feel about being booked solid for the next few months. I too thought fall would bring more cozy nights and weekends curled up on the couch by the fire watching movies but it really just seems to bring us to our busy season!

Brown hair will just make you look more like your mom :-) YES!!! Crickette did hers brown last night. And a trip to see your parents suggested by Steven - hmm... is he coming down with something? I have new recipes, so come on over!

I've always wanted to dye my hair darker for winter... but have never had the courage ;-) And our fall is TOTALLY packed too! Not as jampacked as yours until November, but things always seem to pick up so much in the months leading up to the holidays! Hope you're having a great day :-)

I wouldn't do it all at once. I would start with some low lights, and get there slowly. If you just go out and die it it will be such a drastic change.

I do this all the time, I go light in the summer dark in the winter, but I do it slowly. I hate to go from blonde to brown in one afternoon, I usually end up hating it.

Clemson won this weekend too...if you can even call that a game...

As a brunette, I say join the club for the winter! :)
On a different note, I admire your perseverance with the Cross-Fit training...way to go! I'd say that mixed with training for a marathon is pretty grueling, but hey...if you think you got it - go for it! Think of how great you'll feel when you accomplish both!

I really want to dye my hair but I am bad about maintenance, so I leave as is. I did, however, go a dark chocolate brown and LOVED it. I say go for it OR lowlights to ease your way into it - it's a SHOCK when you go from very blonde to very not =)

I think brown would be great for you as a fall/winter color! I can't wait to hear about what you crossed off your list! I need to finish my list and post it sometime!

My hair is like a medium blonde naturally, not like, not dark. I dyed it dark brown once for the winter, and loved it!! The only problem is it takes awhile to get back to blonde, and if you're a pale skinned blonde, like me, it can wash you out a bit after a few weeks.

I completely hear you on having plans every.single.weekend! how does that even happen? We ask ourselves all the time. Have so much fun with the girls this weekend!!

Ooh, you should totally do the darker hair! I have boring medium brown/blonde hair, so I always go blonder or browner, and I'm currently in a brown phase. I'm going to have some highlights put in next week just to keep it from making my pale self look to ghostly and washed out ;)

Go brown! I bet you'd look gorgeous. Girls' nights are the best. Every once in a while, my sisters and I spend the night at my parents' house, drinking wine and watching movies all night -- and it's so much fun. Have a great week!
